Our CROSS CULTURAL PROGRAME seeks to enhance relationships in the workplace, between colleagues, and with customers and stakeholders. It does this by exploring how behaviour can be influenced by culture, and how we can improve our communication with people from different cultural backgrounds.
CULTURE AWARENESS TRAINING – focuses on how individuals from one cultural group interact with individuals from another cultural group. For instance, a team leader of multicultural team who receives this type of training will become more aware of how his team members are perceived culturally and will better understand the differences and similarities of his team members and will learn how to deal with them. Culture Awareness Training introduces participants to the field of the intercultural learning area, research, study and application of knowledge about different cultures, their differences and similarities. This training will provide you with the tools necessary to improve your cross-cultural competence without focusing on one particular culture.
CULTURE SPECIFIC TRAINING – addresses the day-to-day interactions among people from two or more cultural backgrounds (for example, from New Zealand and China) who are purposefully interacting. This training enables participants to develop new behaviors and skills for productive interactions with counterparts from abroad. This training enables participants to develop new behaviors and skills for productive interactions with counterparts from abroad. Our training program addresses invisible and subtle differences between people of different cultures. “How is trust built differently in this culture? What is the most constructive way to provide criticism? These things vary greatly from country to country.
RELOCATION TRAINING – focuses on cultural adjustment issues in the local context as well as practical issues related to everyday life in the target culture. This type of training, for example, will give an expatriate an overall understanding of the culture of the country where they are relocating and how it compares and contrasts with their own culture. Many executives and managers sent to man foreign operations are usually chosen for their skills and accomplishments within their native country. The assumption is that ‘if they can do it at home, they can do it abroad’. Research suggests this is not the case – cross cultural differences usually make such skills defunct in a new environment.
“Success depends upon previous preparation, and without such preparation there is sure to be failure.” – Confucius
We have been a leader in the field of intercultural trainer training since 2009, when we launched our 2-day course called: TRAINING FOR INTERCULTURAL TRAINERS. This two-days-course is aimed at both beginner and experience trainers from fields such as language, communication skills and management training, who want to develop skills to design and deliver intercultural training courses, but also for anyone who manages or works with culturally diverse employees or clients. In 2011, we launched a more advanced, one year professional course called TRAIN THE INTEGRAL TRAINER (TIT™). TIT can be attended by trainers who have not attended our first course. This one year stadium is designed for experienced trainers, who wish to learn more about the theory and practice of training, or who are considering switch of profession from a functional role to a trainer and learn new skills and techniques in integral course design and delivery.
